Preview Day FAQ

List of 7 frequently asked questions.

• Who can participate in Preview Day?

  At this time, Preview Day is only open to 8^th grade students who are prospective freshmen.

• How can I schedule a Preview Day?

  All 8^th students regardless if they attend a partner school or non-partner school MUST submit an incoming 9^th grade application to register for Preview Day. Once the application has been processed, you will be able to register for Preview Day within your admissions checklist.
  
  PLEASE NOTE: For our Partner School applicants, a Preview Day has been reserved just for your school.  Please sign up for that respective day.

• What should I wear?

  Expected dress code for visiting students, both male and female:

  • • Shirts must be collared and tucked in.
    • Polo shirts must be solid colors, with no patterns, with only small or school logos. Button-up shirts must also be solid colors, with only small or school logos. No plaid or shirt designs are permitted.
    • Pants must be black, navy, or khaki pants.  Pants must not have designs or denim and may not be frayed, torn, ripped, or baggy. Young men should wear belts.
    • Outerwear must be in line with Bishop Gorman's student dress policies.
    • Hooded sweatshirts (“hoodies”) are not permitted.
    • Closed-toe shoes must be worn. Tattoos must be covered. Only ears may be pierced and not in excess.
      No hats are permitted.

  For young men:
  Young men are expected to be clean-shaven with appropriate hairstyles. Prospective male students with hair below the shirt collar must have their hair tied back/up and out of the way in an appropriate manner, as our Bishop Gorman male students are not permitted to have long hair.
  
  For young women:
  Only school-uniform skirts (from a prospective student’s regular uniform) will be permitted and must be appropriate in length as determined by the Administration.
  
  

• What time is Preview Day and where should I go?

  Preview Day is from 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM.  The day will begin at Ryan Hall located within our Athletic Training Center.  After you have registered for Preview Day, you will receive an email with more details.

• Is there a parent portion?

  We invite parents to stay and participate in a campus tour from 8:45 AM – 10:15 AM.  This is optional.  If you plan to participate in a campus tour during your child’s Preview Day there is no need to sign up – just show up with your child! Be sure to reference our traffic flow map for parking instructions.

• What do I do for lunch?

  We encourage you to experience lunch by Sage Dining Services at BGHS!   When registering for Preview Day, you will pay $10 before submitting the form.  $10 will cover lunch for your child.  If your child prefers to bring lunch from home, please contact admissions at admissions@bishopgorman.org to waive the lunch fee.  Want to see what is on the menu?  Visit this link.

• Do I need to bring a backpack?

  No, please do not bring anything with you unless necessary.  We encourage you to have your cell phone on you in the event you need to contact your parent/guardian, however, cell phones must be off during the school day.
