  • I want my student to attend Bishop Gorman, when can I apply?

    The application period for incoming 9th graders for the 2026–2027 school year will be available on our website starting Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and will remain open until Friday, January 23, 2026.

    The application for transfer students for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on our website starting Wednesday, March 25, 2026

  • When will my applicant be able to take the next High School Placement Test?

    The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is required of all incoming 9th graders for admission to Bishop Gorman High School.  We will hold testing on the following dates here at Bishop Gorman High School.  
    Check-in begins at 8 am and testing will be completed by 12:30 pm. 

    The HSPT is administered by Scholastic Testing Services. There are 5 sections: VerbalQuantitativeReadingMath, and Language. In addition, there will be an Essay section. Testers should expect the testing to last around 4 hours.

    For families residing outside the Las Vegas area:

    If your student will be taking the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at a location other than Bishop Gorman, please contact our Admissions Office at admissions@bishopgorman.org. Include the name of the testing school and the test date so we can update your student’s file accordingly.
     
    Please note that official out-of-state HSPT scores must be emailed to our office no later than Friday, January 30, 2026 to be considered in the admissions process.

  • Where can I see how my 9th grade applicant performed on the High School Placement Test?

    Your High School Placement Test results will be mailed with your decision letter.
  • When will decision letters be mailed for the 2026-2027 school year?  

    Incoming 9th Grade Applicants
    Decision letters are sent to applicants with completed admissions files that include grades for 6th, 7th, and 8th, recommendation forms, and High School Placement Test scores.
     
    Partner school applicants with completed admissions files will receive an early admissions decision by Friday, December 19, 2025.
    Non-partner school applicants with completed admissions files will receive an admissions decision by Friday, February 13, 2026. 
     
    Transfer Applicants
    All transfer student acceptance is based on space availability.  Should there be space, decision letters are sent to applicants with completed admissions files that include high school transcripts, in-progress grades, and the recommendation form.

    Acceptances will be released in rounds starting April 2026, with space evaluated on a rolling basis through July or until capacity is reached, whichever comes first.
  • How are the High School Placement Test scores used?

    High School Placement Test scores are used for incoming 9th grade applicants to help determine acceptance, in addition to placing students in their classes once registering for Bishop Gorman classes. 
  • What are admissions decisions based on?

    Admission decisions are based on grades, discipline and attendance reports, recommendations from current teachers and High School Placement Test scores (for incoming 9th grade students).
