Bishop Gorman High School

BGTV provides an introduction to the basics of broadcasting for student with no previous background or experience. Students get an understanding of the vocabulary, equipment and procedures applied to Broadcast Media.

Taking students through the basics of producing television programs and films, BGTV gives students hands-on experience as they learn what it takes to actually take a program from concept through post production.

In addition, weekly broadcasts are produced and shown throughout the school. Through BGTV, students emerge with a broad-based knowledge of the many creative and technical aspects of producing for the electronic media.

The Lance is a publication at Bishop Gorman High School that is student-generated through the efforts and decisions of the publication’s advisors and editorial board. It is the product of the Journalism class designed to serve both the students of Bishop Gorman High School and the community of Las Vegas. The online newspaper experience provides staff members with opportunities for independent research, organizational growth, and motivational planning as well as writing development. Unless specified as otherwise, all content is online-exclusive.
